Kauai luau prices in 2026

A Kauai luau is not a cheap night out, but it is dinner, drinks and a show in one ticket. In 2026 most adults pay between $150 and $215 for a standard seat. Here is what every show costs, what the price includes and where the savings are.

Adult prices, show by show

Viator prices are “from” prices per adult as of September 2026; the four-course Kalamaku package with champagne and front seats is $260 on Viator.

Children, kamaʻaina and extras

Kids usually pay about half. Luau Kalamaku charges $59 to $92 for ages 3 to 12 depending on the package, the Grand Hyatt $101.86 for ages 3 to 12, and Smith’s $45 for ages 7 to 13 and $35 for ages 3 to 6. Toddlers under 3 are generally free. Hawaii residents get kamaʻaina rates booked direct (the Grand Hyatt’s is $186.28). Extras to budget for: the Kalamaku plantation train add-on, hotel transportation where offered, and any drinks after the open bar closes at showtime.

Why luaus cost what they do

A ticket pays for a buffet dinner for hundreds, an open bar at most shows, a cast of dancers, musicians and fire performers, a staff of servers, and the cost of running an event on an island where almost everything is shipped in. Compare it with dinner and drinks at a Kauai resort, which easily reach $100 to $150 a head before any entertainment, and the luau looks more reasonable. How to pay less

Pick the show by value, not just price: Wailua Nui at $175 includes drinks and a carving station, while Smith’s at $150 is the cheapest full luau and its $30 show-only ticket is the cheapest way to see hula and fire on Kauai. Book early for the night you want, since sold-out nights push people into pricier seating. And skip premium tiers at first-come shows like Ka Hikina, where arriving at check-in gets you good seats for free.
